#MotivationalMondays : Stop Playing The Victim

Todays #Motivationalmonday lesson is a short and sweet one. Stop playing the victim! How? I hear you cry. Simply stop making excuses and take charge of even he little things. Using the ladder of accountability and knowing what excuses are easy to constantly dip in and out of, we can hange the cycle.

Take some positive energy, no matter how small, and climb that ladder. Stop excuses and live life! So dance in the rain. Laugh hearty at jokes and simply smile and bring on the wrinkles of old age!

Be Bold. Be Brash And Always Be You

#MotivationalMonday – A Meme A Day Keeps Negativity Away

It feels like this Monday has totally sucker punched us a belter. To grace you through the afternoon  take  5 minutes away from your busy day to laugh. Yes, laugh. You might get the odd look that your a complete weirdo, but laughing soothes the soul and even if it’s over nothing, it releases positive endorphines. And no better way to help with this process is a ruddy good meme. We all have a meme queen in our friendship groups (we certainly do!) and no matter how horrific the day has been they manage to sneak a smile on our faces. So we are gracing you with a few of our favourite memes to help you conquer those Monday blues.. Remember, be bold, be brash, be you

Banish those monday blues!

Its that time of the week again everyone. Mondays calling for you be miserable after a somewhat positive break. My advice this week, RESIST

I set all who read this a few goals this week  that I’m sure it’ll bring you joy. Its the little things that make me smile these days so heres a few.

  • Smile at , at leash 5 people a day. A random smile can make someones day.
  •  Hug and tell those close to you that you love them. With so much hate and cattiness these days we forget about the love.
  • Breathe! When lifes gets to you, compose and breathe. Most situations arent as bad as they first seem
  • If all else fails, fake it! Dont feel like smiling? Well fake it. After a few minutes itll become second nature and you wont be able to stop

To summarise. Be happy. Be kind. Breathe. Enjoy life. Above all else remember Be bold! Be brash! and be you!

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Richard O’ Brien’s Rocky Horror Picture Show is a classic which has amassed a cult following since it’s humble first live stage debut in 1973 (soon to be made into a movie in 1975), which skyrocketed to success and has stood the test of time decades on. More than 40 years on, RHPS is still gaining new fans, young and old, as time goes by and continues to stand on it’s own as one of the most popular musicals to grace the stage.

It’s not hard to see why RHPS hasn’t lost it’s appeal so long after it’s release. Whether you’re introduced to it through the stage show itself or the movie adaptation, it’s hard not to be sucked in. From it’s weird and wonderful characters to the infectious soundtrack, it’s a rare occasion that you’ll come across someone who doesn’t appreciate the wonder that is Rocky Horror. A twisted tale, sexual and humorous all at once, it’s sure to steal your heart from the opening number to the curtain’s close (or the end credits if you’re watching the movie before anyone gets smart).

I had the great pleasure of being able to see the live performance firsthand tonight at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow. The current cast of the show includes Diana Vickers as Janet (tonight played by Lauren Ingram), Liam Tamne as Dr. Frank-N-Furter,  and Norman Pace as the narrator (full cast list and information on the show at the bottom) and what a wonderful cast they were. The whole cast truly brought the house down and captured the essence of Rocky Horror.

When most people think of Frank-N-Furter , an image of Tim Curry in stockings and suspenders, oozing pure sexuality, strutting across your screen is what is conjured up. Those are some very big shoes (and stockings) to fill and Liam Tamne stole the show as the bizarre, twisted, gender bending character who fans have grown to love and adore. It’s a role which, I imagine, would be quite intimidating to take on with people’s expectations after Curry’s interpretation of the character but damn, that boy NAILED it yet made it his own! A definite standout amongst the amazing cast on stage.

A true spectacle, the show was everything you could have wanted whether going in as a long time fan or a newcomer, I was blown away. The music, the singing, the dancing, even the damn lighting, was just exquisite.

The atmosphere in the room was electrifying from the minute the curtains opened as the whole crowd was in full swing, belting along to the numbers, good humoured heckling of the narrator and up on their feet dancing. The room truly was full of joy. Although it did feel like a near death experience when we were all up on the grand circle doing the Time Warp and the whole stand felt ready to collapse under our collective weights.

I must admit, afterwards I felt truly sad that it was over. The whole two hours flew by and I truly wish that we could’ve gone back to see the showing later on this evening.

If the opportunity arises that you get the chance to go and see it, you WILL NOT regret it. It truly was the most fun I’ve had in ages! And even if you don’t enjoy it (which you bloody well will), you have a stark reminder of just how attractive a man in women’s lingerie can be…

Monster High: A Preteen’s Guide

wp-1470669920876.jpgIf you have young girls’ in your family you will know about the Monster High craze. And with Lady GaGa announcing she is creating a doll for the toy brand this fall, it’s set to grow even bigger. So my crazy 11 year old neice Lilly has decided to share with you all her top 5 freaky favs!

Robecca Steam

wp-1470669645706.pngI like this Monster High doll because she is like a robot and has a very old, steam punk style. I really like the colour of her hair too. Very bright!

Venus McFlytrap

wp-1470669721637.png I like her because she is the daughter of the fly trap, so she is a plant  – I find that cool! I like her edgy style, and how she has vines around her arms and legs.

wp-1470669680975.pngDraculaura is a vampire but her style is very girly and pink but with lots of black too. She was one of the first dolls I got. She is like a cute, girly goth!

Gigi Grant

wp-1470669694759.jpgHer clothes are very shiny – shiny gold cuffs, shiny gold earrings, the lot! Her hair reminds me of a snowman, except red instead of white. She is very cool.

Clawdeen Wolf

She is a werewolf rollerskater but her outfit

wp-1470669658947.jpgis not something you would see when skating. Very wild and just so cool. She’s my favourite out of them all as she is my favourite animal and has the best style.

I love Monster High as they are a creative style of dolls, being all monsters. I just love their clawsome style!
